About Us Gandhi Rural Rehabilitation Center was started
in 1983 by three physically disabled artisans, in a determined attempt
to overcome their poverty. What began as a small weaver's
collective and training centre diversified over the years to embrace the
many needs of the disabled community in the rural villages around
Alampoondi.
Over
the last two decades, GRRC has evolved into a broad resource base
and support system for physically and mentally challenged individuals.
Our growth has been organic and somewhat unpredictable, responding to
the needs and opportunities presented by the rural community itself.
We invite you to familiarize yourself with our mission, our
organization, and our work. There are many ways you can support
our activities, including making financial contributions to GRRC. But perhaps
the best way to support the amazing work of our community is to buy some
of the outstanding handloomed cotton produced by our weavers. |
