Anjali Daycare Centre In 1995, we opened the Anjali
Daycare Centre to look after dyslexic, autistic, mentally challenged,
and other special-needs children so that their parents could be free to
pursue their livelihoods. In the beginning, we accepted young children,
providing therapy, exercise, non-formal education, and life-skills
training.
In 2006, we opened the center to young adults with the aim of
creating employment. We produce vegetables, grow flowers, and hope
to train them in simple weaving and tailoring.
We emphasize self-sufficiency in everyday
domestic tasks, and our older children even learn skills which may
someday be used in a livelihood, including weaving and gardening.
The Anjali Daycare Centre is operated free of charge to the parents,
and is run entirely through individual donations.
